Finally back into tumblr…a lot has been happening. I am almost done recording my first album. I have become the music director and co-producer for an upcoming indie movie called “Just Passing Through”, a film that will showcase some of the best talent San Antonio has to offer. I was asked to sing lead in a band as well, but nothing’s really happened with that just yet. Life has been one big surprise after another but I love it. Can’t complain. Happy to be back, what can I say?!

Wow…I would. You don’t know me, but I suffer with terrible depression and I feel like ending it myself at times. But I know I can’t…I have too much to do in this life. It’s far too short to waste it on wishing I wasn’t here. But that’s me…I am always here if you need an ear to listen…there are people in the world you don’t even know who truly care!

Life is beginning to improve for me…it’s been almost a year that I have been down with serious depression. But things like great friends, books like the Bible, and a great husband and family have all helped to turn things around for me. I realized that I have changed so much since I had my hysterectomy as well…not just physically, but mentally and emotionally. Thinking outside the box to get where I am was a scary, scary risk, but here I am. All in all, I feel great! I will definitely start posting here more often because if there is anyone else out there who needs uplifting, I want to be there for them. Anyway, much love to all! xo

A Changing Perspective...

I have been gone for quite awhile due to a lot of things…depression, illness, and music. My depression is slowly diminishing and I could not be happier about it. My home situation has changed along with the perspective that I’ve used to help it move along. I have decided to take my life into my own hands and think completely outside the box to make myself happy. Once I did that, everything around me opened up. I was desperate to smile, and not continue to allow negativity to eat me alive inside…that’s not who I am or who I want to be. Illness in conjunction with depression really, really sucks! Fibromyalgia wreaked havoc with my body and my mind. News that I need a hysterectomy messed with my head as well, but I’m really fine with that now, and so is my husband. We can always adopt. My surgery takes place October 19th.

As far as music, I started recording with a local hip hop artist named NRg two months ago. He is a very dear friend to me that has taught me a great deal about music, about love, and about self confidence. We’ve been friends for 13 years and he thinks I should be this diva sex b-bomb because of my voice. I never bought into that, but I learned that if I change my attitude just a little, I give a better performance in the studio. It has worked like a charm and has weeded over into other areas of my life. But I am still humble…I find that to be a lot more attractive than having a big head! See? It’s all about perspective.

NRg released his album last week. I am featured on it 5 times. His producer, Skip Wayne, offered to record the acoustic soul project I’ve been working on for the past 4 years for a really great price. I would have started recording last week, but I got the FLU! So I’m trying to take care of that so I can get to work.

Guy & I are getting along wonderfully. I want this happiness to last. God is great.
